AdCreative.ai vs Pencil vs Omneky for performance creative

10 Minutes read
Published:
AdCreative.ai, Pencil and Omneky all generate ad creative with AI, but they price, launch and learn differently. Here is what each does, what it costs (checked 24 October 2026), where each falls short, and how to test them on your own account.

AdCreative.ai suits teams that want a high volume of static ads and copy with a predicted score before launch, from $39 a month. Pencil suits brands that want many AI models in one governed workspace that can launch and track ads on seven channels, from $14 a month. Omneky suits teams that want images, short video and avatar ads plus launching on nine channels, from $29 a month. None of the three writes your strategy from your own proof, so the brief still decides most of the result.

How do AdCreative.ai, Pencil and Omneky differ for performance creative?

All three generate ads with AI. The differences are in what a credit buys, which formats are on the cheap plan, and whether the tool sends ads to the ad platform and reads results back.

  • AdCreative.ai started as a static banner and ad copy generator and has added product video, competitor insights and creative scoring.

  • Pencil positions itself as a multi-model workspace for marketing teams, with models from several AI labs behind one interface, brand controls and ad launching.

  • Omneky runs a plan, create, allocate and launch flow, with image ads, short video, avatar video and launching on nine channels, including Meta, Google, TikTok and OpenAI Ads.

Every price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, checked 24 October 2026. Prices and promotions change often, so confirm before you sign. If you want the wider category first, our explainer on what an AI creative strategist for paid social does separates generators from strategy tools.

We make Nagent, whose creative strategy lead is HOOK (Beta). It has its own section further down, kept apart from the vendor comparison.

What does each tool offer, and what does it cost?

AdCreative.ai

  • What it is: an AI ad generator for banners, ad text, product photoshoots and product video, with Creative Scoring AI, Ad Creative Insight AI and Competitor Insights listed on its site.

  • Best for: teams that need many static variants across sizes quickly, and want a pre-launch score to help choose which to run.

  • Pricing (checked 24 October 2026, adcreative.ai): the pricing section on the home page lists Starter at $39 a month billed monthly with 20 credits, one brand and one user; Pro at $249 a month with 300 credits and 10 users; Ultimate at $999 a month with 300 credits, 25 brands and 20 users; Enterprise at a custom price. Higher credit packs cost more on each plan. A sale banner on the day we checked offered 50% off yearly and 25% off quarterly billing, and there is a 7-day free trial.

  • Limitation: every plan says "Unlimited Generations" next to a monthly credit count, so ask what spends a credit before you size the plan. Some figures on the page also repeat with different numbers, such as the Ultimate price and brand counts, so get the quote in writing.

Pencil

  • What it is: a generative AI platform that brings image, video and copy models into one workflow, with brand safety controls, real-time insights and scores, and launch-and-track for ads.

  • Best for: brands and agencies that want several models under one set of brand rules, and enterprise terms such as IP assignment and a no-train policy.

  • Pricing (checked 24 October 2026, trypencil.com/pricing): Core is $14 a month billed monthly or $11 billed annually, with 50 generations a month and one workspace. Growth is $55 or $44, with 250 generations and unlimited workspaces. Pro is custom priced, with unlimited generations, unlimited users, brands and markets, feed-based bulk generation and enterprise terms.

  • Launch: the plan cards list "Launch & track ads on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google Display, DV360 & LinkedIn" from Core upwards.

  • Limitation: 50 generations go quickly when one ad needs several tries. Core has one workspace, so a second brand or market means Growth. The feature comparison grid on the pricing page marks its rows "Coming soon", so check exactly what is live for your channels.

Omneky

  • What it is: an AI creative platform that turns a product link into image and video ads, adds avatar and UGC-style video on higher plans, and launches to nine channels with insights from tagged creative.

  • Best for: small teams that want static, short video and avatar ads in one tool, with launching and reporting in the same place.

  • Pricing (checked 24 October 2026, omneky.com/pricing-plans): Lite is $29 a month billed monthly or $24 billed yearly, with 200 credits, one brand and one seat. Standard is $99 or $79, with 1,000 credits, three brands and three seats. Pro is $249 or $199, with 4,000 credits, five brands and five seats. Enterprise is priced with sales. Top-ups are 10 credits per dollar and never expire. Each paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

  • What a credit buys: the page lists a 1K image ad at 5 credits and a short commercial of up to 15 seconds at 30 credits, and says 1,000 credits on Standard make about 200 image ads, 50 avatar videos with a product, or 33 short commercials.

  • Limitation: commercials, UGC avatar, clone and long-form avatar video are not on Lite; they start on Standard. Credit costs follow the models behind them and can change.

Which one fits your team?

Match the tool to the bottleneck you actually have, not to the longest feature list.

  1. You need many static sizes fast and have one brand. AdCreative.ai Starter or Pencil Core. Pencil is cheaper per month; AdCreative.ai gives you scoring and competitor views on the same screen.

  2. You need short video and avatar ads, not just statics. Omneky Standard is the first plan with commercials and UGC avatar video.

  3. You run several brands or markets. Pencil Growth (unlimited workspaces) or Omneky Standard and Pro (three or five brands sharing one credit pool).

  4. You need enterprise terms, IP assignment and data ring-fencing. Pencil Pro or AdCreative.ai Enterprise, both by quote.

  5. Your problem is that nobody knows which angle to test next. None of the three solves this on its own. You need a brief built from your proof and your past results, which is a strategy job.

How should you test them before you commit?

A free trial only tells you something if every tool gets the same job. Run this two-week test:

  1. Write one brief with the offer, the audience, three claims you can prove, and banned words. Use it in every tool.

  2. Ask each tool for the same set: for example 10 statics at 1:1 and 9:16, and 3 short videos.

  3. Count usable ads, not generated ads. A usable ad is one your brand lead would run without edits. Divide the plan price by usable ads to get your real cost per usable ad.

  4. Check every claim in every output against your proof list. Count the ones you would have to remove.

  5. Launch the best three from each tool into one campaign with equal budgets, the same audience and the same optimisation event.

  6. Judge on cost per result after enough conversions, not on CTR in the first three days. Set the minimum number of conversions before you start.

The biggest failure mode in these trials is judging on output volume. Ten times more ads with the same angle tends to produce the same result, a pattern we cover in why more AI ad creative hasn't moved your ROAS.

What questions should you ask each vendor on a demo?

  • What exactly spends a credit or a generation: a preview, a download, a resize, a re-render?

  • Do unused credits roll over, and do top-ups expire?

  • Which formats are on the plan I would buy, not on the top plan?

  • When you launch to Meta or TikTok, what can the tool change in my ad account: create, pause, budgets, bids?

  • What does the creative score predict, what data trained it, and how often has it agreed with real results on accounts like mine?

  • Who owns the output, and is my data used to train your models?

  • Can I export the ads and the performance data if I leave?

What do these vendors' comparison pages leave out?

We read what the three publish on this question. AdCreative.ai's own comparison of itself with Canva, Adobe Express and Pencil makes performance claims without a method or a sample. Omneky's comparison of campaign automation platforms is fair about who fits which bottleneck but leaves pricing and guardrails to the reader. Pencil's comparison pages focus on its own features and list no trade-offs.

What none of them covers well:

  • Claims risk. An ad that says something the brand cannot prove can cost more than a weak ad. None of the three makes a proof check the centre of its workflow.

  • How a winner is called. Platform-reported ROAS, a holdout, or a ranking against your own past ads all give different answers.

  • Who is allowed to spend. Launching from a creative tool is convenient, but you should know exactly which actions it can take in your ad account and who approves them.

Where does Nagent fit?

Nagent is multiplayer AI for growth: people and AI agents in one shared context, delivering the number. On the Marketing team, HOOK is the AI ad creative strategy lead, in Beta, and reports to MIRA. It is not a bulk image generator like the three tools above. It does the strategy work that sits before and after generation:

  • Brand pack first. HOOK asks for the voice, buyer profile, the claims the brand may make with their proof, banned language and the offer. Nothing is made until the pack is complete.

  • Angles and scripts. Eight sub-agents split the job. SCOUT and MINE study competitor and category ads, ANGLE turns a pattern into a testable angle with its claim made explicit, and SCRIPT writes hooks and scripts. Channel packs today are Meta cold 9:16, Meta retargeting 1:1, TikTok Spark and Google RSA.

  • A claim gate. GATE checks every claim against the brand pack and holds what the pack does not support. Overriding a block needs a second person.

  • Learning from results. PULSE reads ad performance from a connected Meta account or an uploaded export from any ad platform, ranks each ad against your own ads in its channel pack over 90 days, and checks the kill condition set for each bet before launch. VAULT keeps what each campaign taught for the next brief.

What HOOK does not do: it makes read calls only on an ad account. It cannot launch, pause, or change a budget or a bid, and a person spends the money. Statics go to RUPA and video to Alpha on the Content team, so if you only need raw volume, one of the three tools above is the simpler buy. Nagent work is metered in credits; see pricing for plans.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is cheapest: AdCreative.ai, Pencil or Omneky?

On list price, Pencil Core is lowest at $14 a month billed monthly, then Omneky Lite at $29 and AdCreative.ai Starter at $39 (all checked 24 October 2026). The cheapest plan is rarely the cheapest per usable ad, so compare credits, formats and seats on the plan you would actually use.

Can these tools launch ads and read results?

Pencil lists launch and tracking on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google Display, DV360 and LinkedIn. Omneky says it launches on nine channels, including Meta, Google, TikTok and OpenAI Ads. AdCreative.ai lists ad platform integrations on every plan. Ask each what it can change in your account and who approves it.

Pencil vs Omneky: which is better for video ads?

Omneky's Standard plan and above include commercials, UGC avatar video and clone video, with published credit costs per format. Pencil generates video through the models it brings together, priced in generations. If avatar and UGC-style video matter, test Omneky Standard; if you want many models under enterprise terms, test Pencil.

How is Nagent HOOK different from AdCreative.ai?

AdCreative.ai generates ad assets at volume. HOOK, in Beta, builds the strategy around them: angles from your proof, hooks and scripts, a claim gate, and a performance read that feeds the next brief. HOOK never touches spend. See the HOOK page for its full scope.
