Top agentic AI use cases for fintech and lending in H2 2026
People now ask AI engines which app to use, and the rules for lending, BNPL and investment promotions changed in India, the UK and the US during 2025 and 2026. These eight use cases respond to what changed.
Which agentic AI use cases should fintech companies prioritise in H2 2026?Fintech growth teams should prioritise work driven by what changed: visibility in AI answers for app comparisons, neutral multi-lender offer screens under RBI’s 2025 Directions, UK BNPL promotions now under FCA rules, US credit ads checked for trigger terms, FDIC insurance claims, SEBI’s new advertisement code, finfluencer screening and merchant guides for agent-led checkout.
Visibility in AI answers for “best app” and comparison prompts
People now ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI features which investing app, card or loan app to choose, and Pew Research Center found Google users clicked a traditional result on 8% of visits with an AI summary against 15% without one. DRIS tracks which apps the engines name for your category and comparison prompts, and fixes the pages and listings they draw on.
Each week, DRIS runs the agreed prompts, such as the best instant loan app for salaried users and comparisons with named rivals, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode. A rival is now cited for a fees question the brand answers better. DRIS drafts a plain fees page and a clearer FAQ, quoting the APR range exactly as the product terms state it. The SEO and content lead approves each change before it goes live.
the workflow, in one room
- TriggerEach week, run the agreed category, comparison and “is it safe” prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode.
- Record which apps are named, in what order, and which pages, store listings, review sites and forums are cited.
- Find the prompts you are losing and the pages that carry wrong or out-of-date facts about your fees, rates or licences.
- Draft fixes such as a plain fees and rates page, clearer FAQs or an updated help article, stated exactly as the product terms say.
- Approved by SEO and content leadThe SEO and content lead approves each change and its factual claims before publishing.
- Publish, re-run the affected prompts and log whether answers and citations moved.
Guardrail. Never publish a best, lowest or safest claim you cannot substantiate, and in India state loan costs as the APR shown in the Key Facts Statement under the RBI Digital Lending Directions, 2025.
Neutral multi-lender offer screens under RBI’s 2025 Directions
Since 1 November 2025, an Indian lending service provider that works with several lenders must show every matching offer, name the lenders that did not match, and present each offer’s APR, tenor, monthly repayment and Key Facts Statement link without bias or dark patterns. FOLIO audits offer screens, comparison copy and campaign landing pages against that rule, and CREA drafts the fixes.
The loan marketplace is running a campaign that promises the best personal loan offers. FOLIO audits the offer screen and finds one lender highlighted without a disclosed ranking basis, and an unmatched lender missing from the list. CREA drafts neutral copy, a published ranking basis and a fix list for product. The head of growth and compliance approve the copy and fixes before the campaign resumes, and the screen now shows every matching offer side by side.
the workflow, in one room
- TriggerList every screen, landing page and ad that shows or promotes loan offers from more than one lender.
- Check each offer view for all matching lenders, the names of unmatched lenders, and each offer’s lender, amount, tenor, APR, monthly repayment, penal charges and KFS link.
- Flag biased wording, lenders highlighted without a pre-disclosed ranking metric, and dark patterns such as false urgency.
- Draft neutral copy, the published ranking basis and a fix list for product.
- Approved by Head of growth and ComplianceThe head of growth and compliance approve the copy, the ranking basis and the fixes before campaigns point at the screens again.
- Re-audit after each release and keep a dated record of the matching logic and every change to it.
Guardrail. Under the RBI Digital Lending Directions, 2025, a multi-lender LSP must show all matching offers with their APR and KFS link, apply and document its matching logic consistently, and use no dark patterns.
BNPL promotions rewritten for UK regulation from 15 July 2026
Deferred payment credit, the interest-free BNPL most UK shoppers know, became regulated on 15 July 2026, and the FCA’s final rules in PS26/1 tie product information to the Consumer Duty and the clear, fair and not misleading rule. CREA and RUPA rebuild checkout messaging, merchant marketing kits and app copy so they support customer understanding, not just conversion.
With the regime now live, the brand and merchant marketing manager needs every checkout banner, merchant kit and app message brought into line. CREA drafts copy that explains when instalments fall due and what happens if one is missed, and RUPA rebuilds the banners and widgets. Short comprehension checks run on each version. The manager and compliance approve the assets before merchants receive them, and complaints about unclear terms are tracked monthly.
the workflow, in one room
- TriggerInventory every UK promotion: checkout banners, product page widgets, merchant marketing kits, app screens, emails and paid social.
- Flag copy that leads with “free” or “no catch” without explaining when payments fall due and what happens if one is missed.
- Draft revised copy and key product information that supports understanding, and rebuild banners and widgets to match.
- Run short comprehension checks or split tests on the key messages before rollout.
- Approved by Brand and merchant marketing manager and ComplianceThe brand and merchant marketing manager and compliance approve the revised assets before merchants receive them.
- Ship the kits to merchants, track which have updated and report complaints about unclear terms.
Guardrail. From 15 July 2026 DPC lending is regulated in the UK, and its promotions and product information must be clear, fair and not misleading under CONC 3.3 and support customer understanding under the Consumer Duty.

On 12 May 2025 the CFPB withdrew its 2024 interpretive rule on BNPL along with other guidance, and some teams read that as room to loosen ad copy. Regulation Z’s advertising rule still applies: a payment amount or number of payments in a closed-end credit ad triggers the full terms, including the APR. NIA checks every search and app ad for trigger terms before launch.
A new ad set leads with a low monthly payment for a personal loan. NIA scans the copy, finds a payment amount with no APR or repayment terms beside it, and drafts a compliant version plus a variant that leads with the product benefit instead. MIRA logs the change for the quarterly ad review. The paid acquisition manager and compliance approve the final copy before it runs, and trigger-term errors stop reaching live ads.
the workflow, in one room
- TriggerA new or edited ad, landing page or store promotion for a US credit product enters review.
- Scan for trigger terms: a payment amount, the number of payments or repayment period, a down payment or a finance charge.
- Where one appears, check that the APR and the full repayment terms appear with it, and that any rate stated is called an APR.
- Flag claims the product cannot back, such as guaranteed approval, and draft compliant alternatives.
- Approved by Paid acquisition manager and ComplianceThe paid acquisition manager and compliance approve the final copy before it runs.
- Launch, keep a dated record of each approved version and re-check whenever product terms change.
Guardrail. Regulation Z section 1026.24 requires the APR and repayment terms whenever a closed-end credit ad states a trigger term, and the CFPB’s 2025 withdrawal of its BNPL interpretive rule did not change that.
Neobank claims about FDIC insurance and partner banks, checked
US neobanks and payment apps often hold customer money at partner banks, and the FDIC’s rule on misrepresenting insured status applies to any person, nonbanks included, with compliance required from 1 January 2025. FOLIO audits every page, app screen and ad that mentions FDIC insurance, and CREA drafts the disclosures the rule expects.
The brand marketing lead is launching a savings feature. FOLIO audits the website, app screens and ads and finds an FDIC mention that never says the company is not a bank, plus an investing tab beside deposits with no notice that it is not insured. CREA drafts copy naming the partner bank and the conditions for pass-through coverage. The brand marketing lead and compliance approve the copy before launch.
the workflow, in one room
- TriggerCrawl the website, app screens, help centre, ads and social profiles for any mention of FDIC, insured, bank or deposit.
- Check that each mention says the company is not an FDIC-insured bank and that coverage protects only against the failure of an insured bank.
- Check pass-through insurance statements carry the conditions for coverage, and that investing or crypto products shown beside deposits say they are not insured, not deposits and may lose value.
- Draft corrected copy and a single approved disclosure library.
- Approved by Brand marketing lead and ComplianceThe brand marketing lead and compliance approve the corrected copy and the disclosure library before anything is republished.
- Republish, then re-crawl monthly and before every launch.
Guardrail. Under the FDIC’s rule on misrepresenting insured status, a nonbank that discusses deposit insurance must say clearly that it is not an FDIC-insured bank and set out the conditions for any pass-through coverage it describes.
Wealth app ads readied for SEBI’s Common Advertisement Code
SEBI notified a Common Advertisement Code on 8 October 2026 that replaces separate codes for brokers, advisers, research analysts, portfolio managers and mutual funds, and takes effect 180 days after publication. It covers celebrity endorsements, unauthorised third-party ads and dark patterns. MIRA audits every live ad, landing page and onboarding flow against it, and Echo watches for unauthorised ads using the brand.
With the new code due to apply next spring, the marketing compliance manager wants every asset checked early. MIRA audits live ads, landing pages and onboarding screens for return claims, past performance without sources and dates, and dark patterns. Echo watches social platforms for unauthorised ads using the brand and logs the date each is found. The manager approves the fix list and each takedown request before it is sent.
the workflow, in one room
- TriggerInventory live ads, landing pages, onboarding flows, emails and creator content for each SEBI-regulated business line.
- Flag assured or risk-free return claims, past performance without sources and dates, and product-level celebrity endorsements.
- Check sign-up and onboarding flows against the dark patterns listed in the Central Consumer Protection Authority’s 2023 guidelines.
- Watch social platforms and search ads for unauthorised third-party ads using the brand, logging the date each is found.
- Approved by Marketing compliance managerThe marketing compliance manager approves the fix list, the revised copy and every takedown request before action is taken.
- Apply the fixes, send takedown requests and record the action taken on each unauthorised ad.
Guardrail. Under SEBI’s Common Advertisement Code, ads may not claim assured or risk-free returns, celebrity endorsements are allowed only at entity or brand level with prior approval, and an entity must act within seven days of learning of an unauthorised third-party ad.
Finfluencer partnerships screened for SEBI and FCA rules
Since SEBI’s August 2024 amendments and its circulars of October 2024 and January 2025, Indian regulated entities may not associate with unregistered people who give securities advice or make return claims, and education must use prices at least three months old. HOOK screens creators before any deal and checks their posts after.
The influencer marketing manager has a shortlist of creators for a campaign on starting a SIP. HOOK reviews each creator’s recent posts and finds one who regularly names stocks to buy with price targets, so it drops them and records why. MIRA drafts briefs for the rest that keep to education and historical examples. The manager approves the final list, briefs and contracts, and HOOK checks every published post against its brief.
the workflow, in one room
- TriggerBuild a shortlist of creators whose audiences match the target segment on YouTube, Instagram and X.
- Review each creator’s recent posts for stock tips, price targets and return claims, and check SEBI registration status where they give advice.
- Drop creators who fail and record the reason against each name.
- Draft briefs that keep to education, use historical examples and carry the required disclosures.
- Approved by Influencer marketing managerThe influencer marketing manager approves the final creator list, each brief and each contract before outreach.
- Check every published post against its brief and pull any that strays into advice or return claims.
Guardrail. In India, SEBI-regulated entities may not associate with unregistered persons who advise on securities or claim returns, and in the UK the FCA’s FG24/1 warns that promoting a regulated product without authorised approval may be a criminal offence.
Merchant guides and developer docs for agent-led checkout
In September 2025 Stripe and OpenAI released the Agentic Commerce Protocol with Instant Checkout in ChatGPT, and Google announced its Agent Payments Protocol with more than 60 partners. Merchants now ask their payments provider whether they can sell through AI agents. FOLIO writes the merchant guides, docs and FAQs that answer, from what the product supports today.
Merchants keep asking sales whether they can accept orders placed by AI agents. FOLIO drafts a merchant guide, a developer quickstart and an FAQ from the engineering specs, stating which agent protocols the product supports today and which are planned. CREA adds a short explainer for the website. The product marketing manager and the engineering lead approve every capability claim before publishing, and sales gets one link to send.
the workflow, in one room
- TriggerCollect merchant and sales questions about selling through AI agents and agent-initiated payments.
- Read the engineering specs and release notes to confirm which agent protocols, payment tokens and fraud controls the product supports today.
- Draft a merchant guide, a developer quickstart and an FAQ, keeping what is live apart from what is planned.
- Draft a sales one-pager and an email for existing merchants who have asked.
- Approved by Product marketing manager and Engineering leadThe product marketing manager and the engineering lead approve every capability claim before anything is published.
- Publish to the docs site and website, and update the guide with each release.
Guardrail. Describe only the protocols and controls the product supports today, and never imply that a card network or AI platform endorses the integration.
Frequently asked questions
What changed for fintech marketing in 2025 and 2026?
In India, RBI’s Digital Lending Directions took effect in May 2025, with multi-lender display rules from November 2025, and SEBI notified a Common Advertisement Code in October 2026. In the UK, BNPL became regulated on 15 July 2026. In the US, the CFPB withdrew its BNPL interpretive rule in May 2025. Meanwhile, people ask AI engines which app to use.
Does the CFPB’s 2025 pullback mean US fintech ads face less scrutiny?
Not for the rules that sit in regulation. Regulation Z still requires the APR and repayment terms when a closed-end credit ad states a trigger term, and the FDIC’s rule on misrepresenting insured status still applies to nonbanks. Withdrawn guidance changes interpretation, not the underlying law.
Which of these should a fintech start first?
Start with rules already in force: neutral multi-lender offer screens in India and UK BNPL promotions. Then prepare for SEBI’s advertisement code before it applies in 2027. Run AI-answer tracking alongside, because you cannot fix how engines describe your app if you are not measuring it.
