Top 10 sales and marketing use cases for AI agents in fintech and lending

Ten workflows for digital lenders, NBFCs, BNPL providers, payments companies, wealth apps and neobanks, each with its trigger, the systems it touches, the one step a person approves and the measure that shows it worked.

What can AI agents do for fintech and lending growth teams today?AI agents can run the repeatable growth work around a fintech app today: bidding app campaigns to KYC and first transaction, nudging new users through the funnel, nurturing business loan leads to a complete file, merchant and partner outreach, referral payouts, store listings and reactivation. A person approves every customer-facing step, and compliance signs off the claims.

App install campaigns bid on KYC and first transaction, not installs

Install volume is a poor guide for a fintech app when many installs never finish KYC. NIA brings KYC-complete and first-transaction events from the attribution partner into Google Ads, moves bids toward those in-app actions and reports cost per activated user by campaign, so acquisition spend answers to customers rather than downloads.

Each morning, NIA pulls yesterday’s KYC-complete and first-transaction events from AppsFlyer, matched to campaigns, and checks they reached Google Ads as in-app conversions. MIRA compares cost per activated user across search, video and app campaigns, then drafts bid target and budget moves with the reasoning beside each. The performance marketing lead approves every change above the agreed threshold. Spend now follows users who transact, and cost per activated user is the number the team reviews.

Install to KYC to first transaction nudges for new app users

Most fintech funnels leak between install, KYC and the first payment, investment or drawdown. LIPI watches where each new user stopped, drafts push, email and WhatsApp messages that name the exact step left, and holds back anyone who has not opted in to promotional messages.

A new user installs the app on Saturday, uploads a PAN card and stops at the bank account step. On Monday, LIPI sees the stalled step in MoEngage and drafts a push and an email that explain what is left and why it is needed, for users who opted in. The lifecycle marketing manager approves each journey and its copy before it runs. Each week, MIRA reports where users stall and which messages moved them to a first investment.

Business lending lead nurture from enquiry to a complete loan file

Business borrowers enquire, then stall at bank statements, GST returns or financial statements, and a generic drip does not move them. LIPI drafts nurture by stage and by missing document, keeps the CRM stage current and gives each sales officer a ranked list of the files closest to submission.

A distributor enquires about working capital on the website, then goes quiet after the first call. LIPI reads the HubSpot stage and the document checklist, sees the bank statements are missing, and drafts a short email and WhatsApp message explaining what is needed and how to share it. The inside sales lead approves the sequence. Files closest to submission rise to the top of each officer’s list, and nobody is told a loan is approved before sanction.

Merchant acquisition outbound for payment gateways and POS

Payments companies grow by signing merchants just as they open a store, launch online or outgrow their current provider. VANI researches each merchant, drafts a first email that names the trigger and the relevant product, and the merchant acquisition lead approves before any sequence starts.

A regional bakery chain launches online ordering and announces new outlets. VANI checks the CRM for an existing account or an opt-out, reads the site to see which checkout it uses, and drafts a first email naming the launch and the relevant product: payment links, POS or a gateway plugin. The merchant acquisition lead approves the contacts and copy before the sequence starts. Replies and opt-outs land in Salesforce the same day.

  4. Draft a first email and two follow-ups that name the trigger and one relevant product, quoting fees only from the published rate card.
  5. Approved by Merchant acquisition leadThe merchant acquisition lead approves the contact list and the first-touch copy before the sequence starts.

Embedded finance partner pipeline across platforms and marketplaces

For many lenders and payments firms, the best customers come through platforms that already own the relationship: marketplaces, business software, ERPs and dealer networks. NORA maps which platforms serve your target customers, researches the partnerships and product owners, and drafts a partnership case for each one.

The partnerships manager wants embedded credit inside software that small retailers already use. NORA lists the inventory and billing platforms serving that segment, checks which already have a lending partner, and researches each head of partnerships. SERA drafts a first note with a short integration outline and the disclosures the platform would need to carry. The partnerships manager approves each target and message before outreach, and signed partners are tracked in Salesforce by stage.

Guardrail. In India every app a partner uses to originate loans for a regulated lender must be reported to the RBI under the Digital Lending Directions, 2025, and Google Play requires such apps to name their NBFC or bank lenders prominently in the description.

Referral programmes with reward rules, fraud checks and disclosures

Referral is often a fintech’s cheapest channel and its most abused one. CORA tracks each referral from invite to the qualifying transaction, flags patterns that look like self-referral or reward farming, and drafts reward and reminder messages within the published terms.

Referral rewards are due on Friday. CORA matches every invite to the referred user’s KYC and first qualifying transaction, then flags clusters that share a device or a bank account. MIRA drafts reward confirmations and reminders to referrers whose friends stalled, quoting the published terms. The growth marketing manager approves the payout batch, the flagged cases and the messages. Rewards go only to real customers, and the team sees which referrers bring users who stay active.

Paid social app creative built with the required risk warnings

Fintech growth teams test many short video and static variants each month on Meta, YouTube and TikTok, and every one that mentions returns, credit or crypto needs the right warning in the right place. HOOK drafts angles and variants from the brief, with the warning and representative terms built into each one rather than added at the end.

The new quarter needs fresh creative for UK and Indian audiences. HOOK reviews last month’s winners and losers, drafts new hooks and scripts, and builds each variant with the required risk warning on screen throughout and legible on a phone. MIRA checks every frame against the approved claims list. The social performance lead approves each variant and its warning text before upload. Tired creative is replaced on time, and nothing runs without its warning.

Guardrail. UK cryptoasset promotions carry a clear risk warning such as the FCA’s example, “Don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest”, and US ad claims need evidence behind them, with disclosures placed next to the claim as the FTC expects.

App Store and Google Play listings with loan terms disclosed

For a finance app, the store listing is both a ranking surface and a disclosure. CREA drafts listing copy and RUPA the screenshots for the finance terms people search, and every loan term, partner lender name and fee is checked against Apple’s and Google Play’s finance rules before submission.

Store searches have shifted towards instant personal loan and salary advance terms. CREA drafts a new subtitle, description and keyword set, and RUPA builds screenshots for each step of the journey. CREA then checks the listing against the store rules: maximum APR, repayment period, a representative cost example and the names of partner lenders. The app growth manager approves the listing and screenshots before submission, and store conversion is tracked by variant.

Investor education content for wealth apps, free of tips

Wealth and broking apps win search and trust with explainers on SIPs, index funds, tax-saving options and order types, but the line between education and advice is now policed. FOLIO drafts long-form guides from approved product facts, uses only historical market data and flags any sentence that reads like a recommendation or a return claim.

The content lead plans a series on how index funds and SIPs work ahead of tax-saving season. FOLIO drafts each guide from the approved product library, uses historical price data only, and marks any line that sounds like a stock tip or a promise of returns. CREA adds a glossary and FAQ for search. Compliance and the content lead approve each guide before it publishes, and the team tracks sign-ups from education pages.

Dormant user reactivation for wallets, cards and investing apps

Fintech apps carry large bases of users who passed KYC and then stopped transacting. LIPI segments dormant users by what they last did and drafts win-back messages tied to a real product reason, while NIA runs App campaigns for engagement to consented segments, so reactivation spend goes to people likely to return.

The monthly dormancy report shows a large group of users with completed KYC and no transaction for a quarter. LIPI splits them by last action, from bill payments to card top-ups, and drafts a message for each with one useful reason to return. NIA builds an engagement campaign audience from users who consented. The retention marketing lead approves the segments, copy and spend before launch, and reactivated users are counted at their next transaction.

Frequently asked questions

Where should a fintech growth team start with AI agents?

Start where the funnel leaks and the data already exists: bid app campaigns to KYC-complete and first-transaction events, and nudge new users from the step they stopped at. Both run on your attribution and engagement tools and answer to measures you already track, such as cost per activated user.

How is fintech marketing automation different from bank marketing automation?

Fintech growth runs through an app and its partners: installs, KYC, first transaction, referrals, merchants and embedded distribution. Bank marketing leans on branches, relationship managers and existing customers. The agents watch different signals, such as attribution events and store listings, but the rule is the same: compliance-approved claims and a person approving every customer-facing step.

Can AI agents nurture business lending leads?

Yes. They read the CRM stage and the document checklist, draft follow-ups that name the missing document, and rank the files closest to submission for sales officers. They never quote a rate or imply approval before underwriting, and the inside sales lead approves each sequence before it runs.

Do the agents make credit or KYC decisions?

No. Credit, KYC and fraud decisions stay with your underwriting and risk systems and the people who own them. The agents work on marketing and sales: campaigns, messages, content and outreach, built from decisions those systems have already made.
