How much do AI ad creative tools cost per month for a small marketing team?

A small marketing team usually pays about $10 to $250 a month for an AI ad creative generator, and more if it adds research or creative analytics. Entry plans from Creatify, Pencil, Omneky and AdCreative.ai start between $10 and $39 a month; team plans with more seats, brands and video run $55 to $250. Inspiration and analytics tools add $49 to $175 (Foreplay) or $999 (Motion). Most small teams land between $100 and $1,250 a month, before ad spend.
What do AI ad creative tools cost per month in 2026?
The market splits into three groups, and most small teams buy from one or two of them:
Generators, which make the ads: statics, video, avatar and UGC style clips. Roughly $10 to $40 a month for one person, $55 to $250 for a team.
Research and briefing tools, which save competitor ads, organise inspiration and turn it into briefs. Roughly $49 to $460 a month.
Creative analytics, which tag your running ads and tell you which elements win. From about $999 a month, often priced by ad spend.
Every price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, checked 24 October 2026. Promotions change weekly, so confirm before you buy.
We make Nagent, which takes a different route through its creative strategy lead HOOK (Beta). It has its own section near the end.
What does each generator charge?
Creatify
What it is: AI video ads with avatars, URL-to-video, cloning and agents.
Pricing (creatify.ai/pricing): with the annual plan's 30% saving, Standard shows $10 a month (against $15), Pro $38 (against $55), Max $66 (against $95, three seats) and Business $136 (against $195, 10 seats). Enterprise is custom.
Watch: credits expire after two months, and Standard has one seat and one brand space.
Pencil
What it is: multi-model generation with brand controls, scores and ad launching.
Pricing (trypencil.com/pricing): Core $14 a month billed monthly or $11 annually, with 50 generations; Growth $55 or $44, with 250 generations and unlimited workspaces; Pro custom.
Watch: 50 generations is tight once retries count.
Omneky
What it is: image, short video and avatar ads with launching on nine channels.
Pricing (omneky.com/pricing-plans): Lite $29 a month billed monthly or $24 yearly (200 credits, one seat); Standard $99 or $79 (1,000 credits, three seats); Pro $249 or $199 (4,000 credits, five seats); Enterprise by quote. Top-ups are 10 credits per dollar and never expire.
Watch: commercials and avatar video start on Standard.
AdCreative.ai
What it is: statics, ad text and product video, with creative scoring and competitor insights.
Pricing (adcreative.ai): Starter $39 a month billed monthly (20 credits, one user); Pro $249 (300 credits, 10 users); Ultimate $999; Enterprise custom. A sale banner offered 50% off yearly billing on the day we checked.
Watch: plans say "Unlimited Generations" next to a credit count, so ask what spends a credit.
Arcads
What it is: talking AI actor video ads.
Pricing (help.arcads.ai): dollar prices are shown only inside the app. Starter includes 8,000 credits a month and a talking-actor video uses 800, so about 10 videos.
Watch: you cannot budget the dollar figure before signing up.
What do research and analytics tools add?
Foreplay
What it is: a swipe file, a database of ads to search, competitor tracking (Spyder), Meta and TikTok analytics (Lens) and briefs.
Pricing (foreplay.co/pricing): Basic $59 a month billed monthly or $49 annually, one user; Workflow $175 or $149, five users; Agency $459 or $389, 10 users; extra users $20 each. Spyder and Lens start on Workflow.
Watch: annual plans are not refunded on cancellation, per its FAQ.
Motion
What it is: creative analytics that tag every ad you have run and report what wins across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.
Pricing (motionapp.com/pricing): Starter $999 a month for up to $50,000 of monthly ad spend, with unlimited seats; Pro and Growth are "Let's chat".
Watch: it tells you what to make next but does not make the ads.
What does a realistic small-team stack cost?
Three worked examples, using the prices above:
Founder or one marketer, statics and a few videos: Pencil Core ($14) plus Creatify Standard ($10 on annual billing). About $24 a month.
Three-person team, statics plus avatar video, one brand: Omneky Standard ($99) plus Foreplay Workflow ($175). About $274 a month on monthly billing.
Five-person team spending around $40,000 a month on ads: Pencil Growth ($55), Creatify Pro ($38), Foreplay Workflow ($175) and Motion Starter ($999). About $1,267 a month.
Compare that with the cost of the ads themselves. At $40,000 of monthly spend, even the largest stack above is about 3% of media.
Where do hidden costs show up?
The subscription is the floor. These are where small teams overspend:
Seats. Entry plans are often one seat. A second person can mean the next tier.
Brands. One brand on the entry plan is common. A second product line or market moves you up.
Format gates. Video, avatars and cloning often sit one tier above the cheapest plan.
Credits that expire. Creatify's paid credits expire after two months; Arcads Starter and Creator credits reset each cycle. Omneky top-ups never expire.
Retries. If a re-render spends credits, your real cost per usable ad can be several times the list figure.
Annual lock-in. Annual billing saves 20% to 30% but is often non-refundable.
Test media. New creative needs budget to prove itself. A tool that makes 100 ads a month is only useful if you can afford to test them.
Review time. Someone has to check every ad for brand and claims before it runs. Count those hours.
Is credit-based pricing going to surprise you?
It can. Credit pricing is fair for bursty work, but three habits keep it predictable:
Price one ad end to end in each format during the trial, including one retry.
Set a monthly cap in the tool, or use a plan that blocks at the limit rather than billing overage.
Track cost per usable ad each month, not credits used.
What should a small team buy first?
Buy for the bottleneck you have this quarter, not the stack you might need next year.
If you cannot make enough ads, start with one generator on monthly billing. Run it for one full month at your real volume before you commit to annual.
If you make plenty but do not know what to make next, a research or analytics tool will do more for results than a second generator. Start with the cheapest tier that connects to your ad account.
If you know what wins but cannot test it fast enough, look at test media and approvals first. The bottleneck is often budget or sign-off, not software.
Review the stack every quarter. Cancel any tool whose output did not reach a live ad in the last 30 days.
One rule keeps the bill honest: every tool should have a named owner and one number it is meant to move, such as ads shipped per week or cost per usable ad.
Where does Nagent fit?
Nagent is multiplayer AI for growth: people and AI agents in one shared context, delivering the number. It is not a cheaper generator. HOOK, in Beta, is a creative strategy lead that sits before and after generation: it builds angles from your proven claims, writes hooks and scripts per channel pack, checks every claim with GATE, and reads your ad results to say which concepts won. Statics go to RUPA and video to Alpha on the Content team.
On cost, every Nagent plan meters agent work in credits, visible in the workspace, and paid tools pause when the allowance runs out. As a rough guide from our pricing page, a campaign build is about 40 credits and a rendered video about 700. HOOK's own measure is "cost per winner", which counts HOOK's spend, never your ad spend.
What it does not do: HOOK makes read calls only on an ad account and cannot launch, pause or change budgets. If all you need is a high volume of statics at the lowest price, an entry generator above is the simpler buy.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an AI ad creative and campaign optimisation tool cost for a small team?
Creative generators run $10 to $250 a month. Optimisation tools that act on budgets are usually priced by ad spend: Birch shows Pro at $99 a month at $10,000 of monthly spend (checked 24 October 2026), and Madgicx shows its price inside the app. Budget $150 to $500 a month for both at small spend.
What is a realistic monthly budget for AI ad tools for a 10-person marketing team?
With 10 seats, team tiers matter: Creatify Business is $136 a month on annual billing for 10 seats, Foreplay Agency $389 to $459 for 10 users, and Motion $999 with unlimited seats. A full stack runs roughly $500 to $1,600 a month.
Are AI ad creative tools cheaper than a freelance designer?
Most generator plans above are under $250 a month, so compare that with your designer's monthly invoice. The tool does not set strategy, check claims or decide what to test, though, so budget a person's time for that.
Which AI ad creative tool is cheapest?
Creatify Standard at $10 a month on annual billing and Pencil Core at $11 annually or $14 monthly are the lowest paid entry points we found on 24 October 2026. Both cap volume tightly.
