Is Nagent NIA worth it for a company running Google Ads without a specialist?

NIA is worth it for a company running Google Ads without a specialist if someone on the team can give about 30 minutes a week to reading and approving her proposals, and you want campaigns drafted from a brief behind fixed safety checks rather than built by hand. She is not worth it if you want an agent that changes spend with no one approving, if you only need a low-cost rules tool, or if no one can judge a proposal at all.

What does a company without a Google Ads specialist actually need?

Before judging any tool, be honest about the gaps. Teams without a specialist usually struggle with five things:

  1. Building campaigns correctly. Structure, match types, negatives, budgets and conversion goals.

  2. Spotting waste. Search terms and keywords that spend and never convert.

  3. Knowing what changed and why. Results move, and nobody can say whether it was a bid, a budget or the season.

  4. Avoiding expensive mistakes. A typo in a budget, a broad keyword with no negatives, a campaign launched without tracking.

  5. Finding time. The person running ads also runs email, social and the website.

Any option, whether software, an agency or a hire, should be judged on these five. Note that the fourth matters more for a non-specialist than for an expert: you need guardrails that catch mistakes you would not recognise.

What does NIA do on Google Ads?

We make Nagent, so read this section as the vendor's description, checked against our own public docs. Nagent is multiplayer AI for growth: people and AI agents in one shared context, delivering the number. NIA is the AI performance marketing lead on the Marketing team, led by MIRA, the AI Marketing Chief of Staff. A sub-agent works each channel under her: Google Ads, Meta ads (Beta) and ChatGPT ads (Beta) today.

On Google Ads, against the five needs:

  • Building. Build with agent takes a brief (name, objective, budget, locations, landing page, terms you never want to bid on, phrases that must appear) and drafts Search, Shopping, Display, Video or Performance Max campaigns.

  • Spotting waste. Agent optimise runs a diagnosis over a window you choose and proposes fixes such as pausing a campaign that wastes spend or lowering an overspending budget. Her 13 live actions also cover bids and targets, keywords and negatives, ad copy and location targeting.

  • Knowing what changed. You ask in plain English on the Advertising screen, such as "Where is budget being wasted?", and she answers from the account's stored data and can draw a chart. Each change that lands is recorded with the day it landed, so its effect can be set against the window before it.

  • Avoiding mistakes. See the next section.

  • Time. She does the reading and drafting; your part is approving or rejecting.

What protects you when nobody on the team is a specialist?

This is the strongest reason to consider NIA without a specialist, because the guardrails do not depend on you knowing what to look for.

  • Fixed checks decide, the model drafts. A campaign plan goes further only if a chain of fixed checks passes it: budget ceiling and pace, structure, copy safety, conversion tracking and duplicates. A blocking check stops the plan whatever the draft says.

  • No tracking, no build. For a leads or sales objective she will not build without an enabled conversion action, and the check names what is missing.

  • Built paused, as one set of operations. An approved campaign is created as one set of operations, so a failure creates nothing, and it arrives paused, so it spends nothing until a person enables it.

  • Data checks before advice. Before proposing anything, the optimise loop checks the metric window is fresh and well covered, and a keyword pause must clear a wasted-spend floor and a click floor.

  • Dry runs and a queue. Each fix is validated as a dry run, then waits on Actions with what it does and a risk note.

  • No self-promotion. She starts at L2 Assist, below the level her live actions need, so every one queues. Agents on Nagent are promoted by people, one level at a time, never by the system; see the autonomy ladder.

What does NIA cost?

NIA has no separate price. She works on the Marketing team, and every Nagent plan meters agent work in credits that you can see in the workspace. As a rough guide, a campaign build is about 40 credits. When the allowance runs out, paid tools pause and nothing is deleted. Which plans include the Marketing team is on the pricing page.

The same credits cover the rest of the Marketing team's work, such as DRIS for AI search visibility, so the comparison is not only against a single Google Ads tool.

How does NIA compare with the alternatives?

Each third-party price was checked on its own site on 24 October 2026.

Google's built-in automation

  • What it is: Smart Bidding and Performance Max inside Google Ads.

  • Cost: free beyond media spend.

  • Fit without a specialist: good for bidding, but it will not tell you a campaign is badly built or that a search term is irrelevant to your business.

Optmyzr

  • What it is: PPC management software with audits, alerts, a Rule Engine and an AI Sidekick (Optmyzr).

  • Cost: from $299 a month, or $209 billed annually, for up to $25,000 of spend, with a 14-day free trial (Optmyzr pricing).

  • Fit without a specialist: deep and proven, but it assumes you know which tools and rules to use. For a side-by-side, see NIA vs Optmyzr.

Birch (formerly Revealbot)

  • What it is: automated rules for Meta, Google, Snapchat and TikTok.

  • Cost: Pro at $99 a month for up to $10,000 of spend (Birch pricing).

  • Fit without a specialist: cheap, but you must write the rules, and a bad rule can run as often as every 15 minutes (Birch).

Madgicx

  • What it is: AI tools mainly for Meta ads.

  • Cost: shown in the app, tied to spend (Madgicx pricing).

  • Fit: better suited to Meta-first brands than to Google-only accounts.

Albert.ai and Smartly

An agency

  • Cost: WebFX's published card starts at $750 a month for up to $5,000 of spend and moves to 15% of spend between $5,000 and $30,000 (WebFX).

  • Fit: strongest when you need someone else to own strategy and setup.

A hire

  • Cost: a US paid search specialist averages $47,345 in base pay in 2026 (Payscale).

  • Fit: best when ads are central enough to need a full-time owner.

When is NIA not worth it?

Be clear-eyed about these cases:

  • You want no approvals. Every live change waits for a person. If nobody will open Actions, proposals will sit unused.

  • No one can judge a proposal at all. NIA explains each change, but someone must decide. If that is impossible, an agency is the safer start.

  • You only need one cheap tool on one channel. A rules tool may cost less if you already know what rules you want.

  • You advertise mainly on other networks. She works Google Ads, Meta ads (Beta) and ChatGPT ads (Beta) today, not Microsoft, TikTok, Amazon or LinkedIn.

  • Meta is your main channel and you need full builds. On Meta she creates an empty campaign; ad sets, audiences, ads and creative are made in Ads Manager.

  • Your tracking is broken. She will flag it but not fix it. Fix tracking first.

What should you check in a demo?

  1. Connect your real Google Ads account and run a 30-day diagnosis. Would you approve most of the proposals?

  2. Ask her a question you already know the answer to, and compare.

  3. Build one campaign from a brief and read the checks' verdict.

  4. Look at Actions: is each risk note clear to someone who is not a specialist?

  5. Ask which plan includes the Marketing team, and estimate your monthly credits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nagent NIA vs Optmyzr: which is better for Google Ads management?

Optmyzr is a mature toolkit for people who know PPC and want many tools and rules. NIA is a teammate that drafts campaigns and fixes for a person to approve, with fixed checks built in. Without a specialist, the guardrails tend to matter more than the number of tools.

Can NIA run Google Ads without anyone approving?

No. She starts at L2 Assist, so every live change queues on Actions. Promotions are decided by people, one level at a time, and depend on a track record.

Does NIA work with Performance Max and Shopping campaigns?

Yes. Her build surface drafts Search, Shopping, Display, Video and Performance Max campaigns from a brief, and every campaign she creates arrives paused.

What does NIA need before she can start?

A plan that includes the Marketing team, a connected Google Ads account synced through Google's consent screen, an enabled conversion action for leads or sales objectives, and a person who approves changes.
