Best AI tools for online review monitoring and response for a growing brand

For a growing brand, Birdeye and Yext suit businesses with many locations that want review requests and AI-drafted replies. Podium suits local businesses that collect reviews by text. Sprout Social suits brands whose social team will also own reviews. Sprinklr suits enterprises running reviews inside a wider customer experience platform. Nagent's Echo (Beta) suits teams that want every reply approved and posted by a person, plus checks on what AI assistants say about them.
Which AI tools are best for review monitoring and response?
Each entry below was checked on the vendor's own site on 24 October 2026. We make Nagent, so Echo is listed last and held to the same format.
Birdeye
What it is: a reputation platform with AI agents for review generation, review response and review marketing, plus Search AI for AI answer visibility.
Best for: multi-location brands where ratings per location drive visits or bookings.
Replies: the response agent reads each review in full and either posts on its own or holds for approval; you choose.
Pricing: by quote, based on locations and modules deployed.
Limitation: built around locations, so a single-site online brand uses less of it.
Yext
What it is: listings, reviews and search tools for brands with many locations, plus Scout, an AI and SEO visibility agent.
Best for: brands that want listings accuracy and reviews managed together.
Replies: its reviews page covers Google, Facebook, Yelp and more than 80 industry sites, drafts replies from templates and rules, offers approval workflows and audit trails, and can auto-respond when appropriate.
Pricing: by quote; the pricing URL returned a 404 and the site points to sales.
Limitation: no public price, and it is built as a platform for multi-location brands, so scope which modules you actually need.
Podium
What it is: a messaging-first platform for local businesses, with review invites by text and an AI Employee add-on.
Best for: service businesses that win reviews right after a visit or job.
Replies: its reviews page says AI crafts review invites and replies; it does not state whether replies post automatically or wait for approval.
Pricing: talk to sales; AI Employee is an add-on to any plan.
Limitation: focused on local and text-based review collection rather than marketplaces or app stores.
Sprout Social
What it is: a social media management platform with reviews in the same inbox.
Best for: brands whose social team will own reviews too.
Replies: review integrations for Google Business Profile, Yelp, Tripadvisor, Facebook, App Store, Google Play, Trustpilot and Glassdoor; the Advanced plan lists Enhance Reply by AI Assist.
Pricing: review management from Standard at $199 a seat a month; Essentials ($99 monthly, $79 annually) does not list it (pricing).
Limitation: per-seat cost rises with every person who needs access.
Sprinklr
What it is: an enterprise customer experience platform with review sources inside its insights and social suites, and LLM Insights for answer engines.
Best for: large organisations that want reviews inside service, social and intelligence workflows.
Replies: published from the platform where networks allow; Location Insights reads more than 20 location-based review sources.
Pricing: quote only, no free trial, self-serve discontinued, per its brand factsheet.
Limitation: more platform and implementation than a growing brand usually needs.
Echo (Nagent)
What it is: Nagent's AI Reputation Coworker, in Beta, on the Marketing team reporting to MIRA. Six seats watch local listings, review sites, app stores, marketplaces, employer sites and social threads a person adds. See Echo.
Best for: teams that want every public reply approved and posted by a named person, and that care whether AI answers describe them correctly.
Replies: drafts grounded in facts your team approved, decided one at a time; Echo never posts.
Pricing: no separate price; Echo works on the Marketing team, metered in credits on Nagent's plans.
Limitation: it does not collect reviews, post replies or run a social inbox, and parts are still being built.
What should a growing brand look for in a review tool?
Start from where your reviews live, not from feature lists.
Coverage of your top sites. List the five sites that most affect sales, such as Google for local, Amazon for products, G2 for software, App Store for apps. Every tool must read all five, and reply where the site allows.
Triage, not just alerts. A good tool groups reviews by severity and theme so the team sees ten that matter, not two hundred notifications.
Approval control. Choose who approves which replies, and confirm the tool can enforce it.
Grounding. Replies should draw on facts you maintain (returns policy, hours, prices), not on what the AI guesses.
Sensitive reviews routed to a person. Safety, health, discrimination and legal threats need a human, every time.
Reporting you will use: rating trend by location or product, response time, and recurring themes.
Should AI reply to reviews on its own?
For most growing brands, not to negative reviews. A wrong apology, a promise you cannot keep or a reply that discloses customer details is public and permanent.
A practical policy:
Positive, no detail: a short thank-you, which your process may allow to run with light review.
Mixed or specific: AI drafts, a person approves the exact words.
Negative: AI drafts, the owner of that issue approves and follows up privately.
Sensitive: no AI draft; a designated person writes it.
Birdeye lets you choose per setup between posting and holding for approval. Yext describes approval workflows. Echo has no posting path at all: a person posts every approved reply.
How quickly should you respond, and to which reviews?
BrightLocal's 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey gives the expectations:
97% of consumers read reviews online.
89% expect business owners to respond to reviews, while only 19% of those expect a same-day reply.
74% look for reviews written in the last three months.
31% will only use a business rated 4.5 stars or more, up from 17% in 2025.
So: respond to most reviews, within a few days rather than minutes, and prioritise recent, negative and detailed ones. Speed matters less than getting the facts and tone right.
How do reviews shape what AI assistants say about you?
The same survey found 45% of consumers used ChatGPT or other AI tools for local recommendations in 2026, up from 6% in 2025. Answer engines read review sites and listings, so a pattern of complaints, or an outdated fact on a listing, can end up in an AI answer about you.
Several tools now track this. Birdeye's Search AI reports visibility and accuracy across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI features. Yext's Scout tracks visibility in AI and traditional search and which sources AI platforms cite. Sprinklr sells LLM Insights. Echo samples your buyers' questions on up to three answer engines and checks each claim against facts your team approved.
What does a weekly review workflow look like?
Daily, 15 minutes: clear the triage queue. Approve or edit drafted replies, escalate anything sensitive.
Weekly: read themes. If the same complaint appears three times, it is a product or service issue, not a reply-writing task. Send it to the owner.
Weekly: check AI answers for your top buyer questions and log anything wrong.
Monthly: update the facts replies rely on, retire expired offers and review response times by site.
Quarterly: check coverage. New marketplace, new app, new location? Add the source.
What do these tools cost?
Only Sprout Social publishes prices: review management from $199 a seat a month on Standard, checked 24 October 2026. Birdeye, Yext, Podium and Sprinklr price by quote, usually by locations, modules or seats. When you ask for quotes, give each vendor the same inputs: number of locations, review sites, seats and monthly review volume, and ask for add-on prices in writing.
Where does Nagent's Echo fit?
Echo is for teams that want AI to do the reading, triage and drafting while people keep every public word.
Six seats, one per platform group, including Indian platforms such as Justdial, AmbitionBox, MouthShut, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa and Meesho alongside Google, G2, Trustpilot, Amazon, the app stores and Glassdoor.
Cases with an owner: a serious negative review opens a case with risk, owner, reply state and due time.
Replies grounded in approved facts, up to 1,500 characters, decided one at a time with no approve-all. A reason for sending a draft back is carried into the next one.
Sensitive reviews never drafted by a seat.
AI answer checks against approved facts, with claim issues, observed inclusion and source coverage kept as separate measures.
What it does not do: post replies, ask customers for reviews, or run a social inbox. Google Business Profile connects directly; other sources are public pages a person adds, and that part is in Beta. If you need review generation or automated posting, Birdeye, Yext or Podium fit better. For the wider idea, read what AI reputation management is.
Frequently Asked Questions
Sprinklr vs Sprout Social vs Birdeye: which is best for review management at a mid-size company?
Birdeye for multi-location businesses that want review requests and AI replies with a choice of autonomy. Sprout Social for brands whose social team will own reviews, from $199 a seat a month. Sprinklr for enterprises running reviews inside a full customer experience platform, by quote.
Should a brand respond to positive reviews?
Yes, briefly. BrightLocal found 89% of consumers expect owners to respond to reviews. A short, specific thank-you is enough; save the effort for negative and detailed reviews.
Can AI-written review replies sound human?
Yes, if they draw on real facts and your voice and are read by a person before posting. Generic replies that repeat the reviewer's words back to them read as automated, whoever wrote them.
How do I monitor what ChatGPT says about my brand?
Write down the facts that must be right, ask buyer questions on several engines regularly, and compare each claim with your facts. Echo, Birdeye's Search AI and Yext's Scout all automate parts of this.
