Is Nagent AI an AI agent platform or just another AI tool?

Nagent is an AI agent platform, not a single AI tool, though it is built for one area of work: growth. Every Nagent agent is a configuration of ten declared parts (triggers, model, memory, skills, trust, autonomy, tools, external tools, budget and surfaces) under one control plane. Agents share one memory and one record, earn autonomy level by level, and can be built, extended and run from your own code. What it is not: a general-purpose builder for every department.

What separates an AI agent platform from an AI tool?

We make Nagent, so this post is us answering a question about ourselves. To keep it honest, start with a test you can apply to any vendor, then see how Nagent scores.

An AI tool does one job when a person asks: write this, summarise that, make an image. An AI agent platform runs many agents that act on real systems over time. It earns the name when it has all of these:

  1. Agents that act, not just answer: they change records, call tools and send work onward.

  2. Shared context: a memory every agent reads, so the second agent knows what the first learned.

  3. A control plane: per-agent permissions, budgets and a way to stop an agent.

  4. Graded autonomy: a clear rule for what an agent may do alone and what waits for a person.

  5. An audit record of every action, readable and exportable.

  6. Extensibility: build your own agents, connect your own tools and run agents from your own code.

  7. More than one agent working together, with handoffs that keep permissions intact.

A tool can be excellent and fail all seven. A platform that fails three of them is a tool with a dashboard.

How does Nagent score on each test?

1. Agents that act. Nagent agents work in the systems a growth team uses. NIA builds Google Ads campaigns from a brief and proposes live changes, DRIS audits pages and tracks how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok answer buyers' questions, and NORA researches accounts and prepares outreach for a person to approve. Live, customer-facing steps wait for a person until an agent has earned more room.

2. Shared context. The Knowledge Hub holds the brand, products, customer profile and operating rules, and every agent reads it on every run. Each agent also keeps its own memory of what worked and what failed, and decisions stay beside the work in one ledger.

3. A control plane. For every agent, the platform exposes its triggers, model, memory, skills, trust, autonomy, tools, budget and surfaces, each with an owner and a history. Roles (admin, operator and viewer) apply to people and agents alike. Budgets are enforced by the runtime, and a breach or a person stops the agent.

4. Graded autonomy. Every agent holds a level on the Earned Autonomy Ladder: L1 Observe, L2 Assist, L3 Operate, L4 Represent and L5 Lead. Agents arrive at L2 Assist. Below L5 Lead, every public post and reply waits for a named person. Deleting and governance changes always wait. Nagent nominates an agent for promotion on its record; a person decides.

5. An audit record. Every agent decision and action is written to an append-only record that the customer can read and export, with tenant isolation underneath.

6. Extensibility.

  • Build: start a custom agent from one sentence in Agent Workbench. The builder asks questions and drafts its skills, tools, triggers, guardrails, model, autonomy and prompt; nothing exists until a person presses Provision agent (how a custom agent is built).

  • Connect: hundreds of tools via Composio, plus your own API through Connectors, with Google Ads and Meta Ads as native connections (integrations).

  • Run from code: a REST API, an MCP server for clients such as Claude Code and Cursor, signed webhooks, and SDKs on PyPI and npm, governed by the same levels and approvals as inside Nagent (developer docs). API keys are in Beta and start on the Team plan.

7. Agents working together. Nagent organises agents as departments: Marketing led by MIRA, Sales led by SERA and Content led by CREA, each an AI Chief of Staff with team leads under them. A chief hands work to a lead, the handoff runs under the receiving agent's own level and budget, and a delegate cannot delegate again.

So what kind of platform is Nagent?

Nagent is multiplayer AI for growth: people and AI agents in one shared context, delivering the number. In practice that means three things you can open on day one:

  • The room: one thread, one board and one record per team, where people and agents work together and approvals appear as cards at the work.

  • The team: an AI Chief of Staff who owns the number, team leads who run their part, and sub-agents on each lead's bench.

  • The work: a one-line brief, steps you can watch and stop, a card for a person before anything above an agent's level runs, and a result you review.

The closest description is a platform delivered as a prebuilt growth organisation, rather than a blank canvas you assemble yourself.

What are the honest limits?

  • It is built for growth work. Marketing, sales and content. Customer experience is Convexa, a separate product on its own subscription.

  • Some seats are not live yet. MOXA (social media), DEXA (deal execution) and RIVA (revenue operations) are coming soon. Nagent does not post to social media today.

  • Some parts are Beta. HOOK, Echo, LIPI and VANI are Beta; NIA's Meta and ChatGPT ads are Beta; building a whole team from the chat is Beta; API keys are Beta. N, the head of the growth org, is in Beta with a waitlist.

  • Skills are written with the Nagent team. Creating a new skill needs a permission the Organisation admin role does not hold today.

  • Autonomy has plan ceilings. Solo and Team go up to L3 Operate, Business to L4 Represent and Enterprise to L5 Lead.

  • Compliance: Nagent is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified by InterCert; its SOC 2 Type II programme is in progress, not complete.

How does Nagent compare with other agent platforms?

Different platforms solve different jobs. From each vendor's own site, checked on 24 October 2026:

  • Salesforce Agentforce: Salesforce's AI agent platform across a Salesforce organisation, priced by Flex Credits ($500 per 100,000), conversations ($2 each) or per-user add-ons (Agentforce pricing). Best when Salesforce is your system of record.

  • HubSpot Agent Hub: agents across HubSpot's marketing, sales and service, included in its paid tiers and run on HubSpot Credits (HubSpot). Best for HubSpot teams.

  • Relevance AI: a platform for building multi-agent teams on a canvas; Enterprise plan only (Relevance AI pricing). Best for teams that want to build their own.

  • Lindy: a shared AI worker for the whole team, from $29.99 a month per active user (Lindy pricing). Best as a shared assistant.

  • Sierra: a platform for customer-facing conversational agents across chat, voice, email and more, with outcome-based pricing (Sierra). Best for customer experience at scale.

Nagent's place among them: growth work run by a standing team of agents with one memory, one record and one ladder of trust.

How can you check this in a demo?

Ask any vendor, including us, to show these live:

  1. One action proposed, approved by a person, run on a real system and found in the audit record.

  2. The same agent's level, budget and tool grants, and who changed them last.

  3. A handoff from one agent to another, and whose permissions the second agent used.

  4. What happens when an agent hits its budget cap.

  5. A custom agent drafted from one sentence, and what has to happen before it is live.

  6. The same agent called from an API or MCP client, with the same approvals applying.

To see how the parts fit together, start at the platform page, then the multiplayer growth org. For the category in general, read what an AI agent platform is and how it differs from AI tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an AI agent platform and how is it different from regular AI tools?

An AI tool does one job when asked. An AI agent platform runs many agents that act on real systems, share one memory, work under per-agent permissions and budgets, earn autonomy by record and leave an audit trail.

Can I build my own agents on Nagent?

Yes. Start from one sentence or a template in Agent Workbench; the builder drafts the agent and nothing goes live until a person provisions it. Enterprise customers can also have custom agents built by Nagent AI Labs.

Does Nagent work with the tools I already use?

Yes. It connects to hundreds of tools via Composio, plus your own API, with native Google Ads and Meta Ads connections.

How is Nagent priced?

Plans meter agent work in credits, visible in the workspace. As a guide, an AEO page audit is about 10 credits, a campaign build about 40 and a rendered video about 700. See pricing.

Is Nagent safe for enterprise use?

It is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified, with tenant isolation, RBAC, an append-only audit and private VPC deployment available. SOC 2 Type II is in progress.

How do I decide if my company needs an AI agent platform or just point AI tools?

You need an AI agent platform when AI work crosses several tools, agents must act on real systems rather than only draft, and you need one record of who approved what. Point AI tools are enough when one person uses one tool for one job and checks every output. A scoring checklist
