Creating an agent

The three-step process for building a new agent on Nagent — open the Agent Workbench, describe the job, then review and provision the agent.

Creating a new Agent on Nagent Platform

Creating an agent on Nagent AI is a three step process.

Step 1

Open the Agent Workbench Screen as shown below.

The 2nd way to create an agent is directly calling agent-builder agent from the team workspace. You can do that by typing “@ agent-builder” on the chat window (make sure that you have added the agent-builder to your workspace).

Step 2

Describe what you want the agent to do in a few lines or as detailed as possible and answer few questions.

Then click on the “Build Agent” Button at the bottom of the page. It will take 1-2 minutes to think and configure the agent, which takes us to the third step of the process.

Step 3

This is where the whole process becomes pretty serious. You have to review the functionality of the Agent. You can do that by either manually editing the agent or just asking the agent builder “Helix” through the chat window. Here you can edit the following things:

  1. Agent key, Name and Description

  2. Skills

  3. Tools

  4. AI Models

  5. Capabilities

  6. Triggers

  7. Guardrails

  8. Autonomy

  9. System Prompt

  10. Risk level

After you have configured the agent, you can click on “provision Agent” Button. After the agent is provisioned, it will be visible on the agent workbench for further configuration.

You have to click on “Enable Now” to make the agent active.

The whole process will take <5 mins to build a new agent.
