Best AI tool for generating ad creatives that actually improve ROAS

The AI tool that improves ROAS is the one that closes the loop: it reads which ads won on your account, says why, and changes the next angle, not just the next image. Omneky and Creatify generate and also read results and move budget; Pencil generates and tracks; AdCreative.ai scores ads before launch; Motion and Foreplay explain what wins but do not generate. Pick a generator plus a way to learn from results, and prove the gain with a holdout test.
Why doesn't more AI creative improve ROAS on its own?
Most teams that add an AI generator make more ads, not better bets. Volume helps only when each variant tests a different idea. Three patterns explain why ROAS stays flat:
Same angle, new pixels. Ten backgrounds behind one weak message lose the same way.
No read-back. Results stay in Ads Manager and creative stays in a folder, so nobody can say which element won.
Weak claims. Generic benefits look like every competitor's ad, and strong claims nobody can prove get rejected or create risk.
We cover this in depth in why more AI ad creative hasn't moved your ROAS. The tools below are judged on whether they help with all three, not on output volume.
Facts come from each vendor's own site, checked 24 October 2026. We make Nagent, whose creative strategy lead HOOK (Beta) works on this loop; it has its own section near the end.
Which AI ad creative tools learn from performance, and which only generate?
Omneky
What it is: image, short video and avatar ads from a product link, with an Agent, Automations and Insights on every plan, and launching on nine channels including Meta, Google, TikTok and OpenAI Ads (omneky.com).
The loop: generates, launches, reads tagged results, and its demo shows budget allocation by channel before a launch confirmation.
Pricing (checked 24 October 2026, omneky.com/pricing-plans): Lite $29 a month billed monthly, Standard $99, Pro $249, Enterprise by quote.
Limitation: video and avatar formats start on Standard.
Creatify
What it is: AI video ads with avatars, cloning and a Performance Agent that connects to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, reads campaigns and reallocates budget.
The loop: generates, launches, reads, and turns winning ads into new variations.
Pricing (checked 24 October 2026, creatify.ai/pricing): agents start on Pro, shown at $38 a month with the annual plan's 30% saving (against $55).
Limitation: strongest on video; ask what needs approval before budget moves.
Pencil
What it is: a multi-model generation workspace with "Realtime AI insights and Scores" and launch and tracking on seven channels (pricing).
The loop: generates, scores, launches and tracks.
Pricing (checked 24 October 2026): Core $14 a month billed monthly, Growth $55, Pro custom.
Limitation: 50 generations on Core; the comparison grid on its pricing page marks rows "Coming soon", so confirm what is live.
AdCreative.ai
What it is: statics, ad text and product video, with Creative Scoring AI and Competitor Insights (adcreative.ai).
The loop: a pre-launch score helps choose which variants to run; ad platform integrations are listed on every plan.
Pricing (checked 24 October 2026): Starter $39 a month billed monthly, Pro $249, Ultimate $999, Enterprise custom.
Limitation: a pre-launch score is a prediction; ask how often it has matched in-market winners on accounts like yours.
Motion
What it is: creative analytics that tag every ad you have run by asset type, hook and angle, and recommend what to make next for Meta, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn (motionapp.com).
The loop: the best "why did it win" read in this list, but you make the ads elsewhere.
Pricing (checked 24 October 2026, pricing): Starter $999 a month up to $50,000 of monthly spend.
Limitation: no generation, no budget moves.
Foreplay
What it is: a swipe file, an ad database to search, competitor tracking, Meta and TikTok analytics (Lens) and briefs (pricing).
The loop: strong on research and turning inspiration into briefs; Lens adds your own results from the Workflow plan.
Pricing (checked 24 October 2026): Basic $59 a month billed monthly, Workflow $175, Agency $459.
Limitation: it does not generate ads.
Which combination should you choose?
Small team, one tool: Omneky or Creatify, because each generates and reads results in one place.
Statics-heavy brand with a designer: AdCreative.ai or Pencil for volume, plus Foreplay for research and briefs.
Spending enough to need a real creative read: Motion for analysis, plus any generator.
Canva for statics today: keep it for layout, and add a tool that reads results, because Canva-made variants still need a performance loop.
What should you check before you trust a tool's ROAS claims?
Vendor pages in this category make ROAS and CTR claims without a method. AdCreative.ai's post on how AI product videos improve ROAS gives the ROAS formula and reasons video helps, but no test design, sample or holdout. Before you believe any claim, including ours, ask:
Compared with what? The account's own previous ads, or an industry average?
Over what window and spend? A week of small spend proves little.
Measured how? Platform-reported ROAS, or a holdout and blended revenue?
What else changed? Budget, audience, offer and season all move ROAS.
How do you prove an AI tool improved your ROAS?
Run your own test before renewing:
Split the work, not the audience. For four to six weeks, half of new concepts come from the old process and half from the new tool. Run them in the same campaigns with the same audiences.
Fix the metric. Cost per purchase or blended ROAS, with one attribution window.
Tag every ad by source (old process or new tool) and by angle.
Set a minimum number of conversions per concept before calling it.
Compare hit rate, the share of concepts that beat the account's median, not just the best single ad.
Price it: tool cost plus review time per winning concept.
If the new tool raises hit rate at a similar or lower cost per winner, it is improving ROAS. If it only raises volume, it is not.
What should the brief to an AI generator contain?
Whichever tool you pick, its output is only as good as the brief. A brief that gives a generator a fair chance has six parts:
The buyer and the moment, such as "first-time buyer comparing two brands on a phone at night".
One angle per concept, written as a sentence a customer would say.
Approved claims with their proof, and the claims you must never make.
The offer and the action you want.
The channel and format, with its length and ratio limits.
What won last time, by angle and hook, from your own account.
The last line is the one most teams skip, and it is the one that turns a generator into a learning system.
Where does Nagent fit?
Nagent is multiplayer AI for growth: people and AI agents in one shared context, delivering the number. HOOK, in Beta, is built around the loop above rather than generation volume:
Angles from proof. HOOK starts from a brand pack with the claims the brand may make and their proof. SCOUT and MINE study competitor and category ads, and ANGLE turns a pattern into a testable bet with its claim made explicit and a kill condition set before launch.
Claims checked. GATE checks every claim and holds what the proof does not support.
Winners called against your own ads. PULSE ranks each ad against your own ads in its channel pack over 90 days, joins it to the concept it came from, and separates a weak angle from a weak execution of a good one.
Learning that lasts. VAULT writes a playbook of what has won for this brand in each channel pack, with its sample size, and hands it to the next brief.
Measured honestly. HOOK's "cost per winner" counts HOOK's own spend, never your ad spend.
What it does not do: HOOK does not mass-produce assets; RUPA renders statics and Alpha renders video on the Content team. It makes read calls only on an ad account and cannot launch, pause or move budget. See pricing for how credits work, and our explainer on the AI creative strategist for paid social.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are my AI-generated ad creatives not improving ROAS?
Usually because the variants change the visuals but not the angle, results are not read back by element, and claims are generic. Test different ideas, tag every ad, and feed winners into the next brief.
Which AI ad creative platforms learn from campaign performance over time?
Of those we checked, Omneky and Creatify read results and act on budgets, Pencil tracks results, AdCreative.ai scores before launch, and Motion and Foreplay analyse without generating. Check what each stores and reuses between campaigns.
Why is ROAS dropping even after switching creative production tools?
A new tool changes how ads are made, not what they say. If angles, offers and audiences stay the same, fatigue returns on schedule. Look at the brief and the test design before the tool.
What is the best alternative to Canva for performance-driven ad variations?
A tool that both generates and reads results, such as Omneky or Creatify, or Canva plus a creative analytics tool like Motion. The gain comes from the performance loop, not the editor.
