Staying in the loop

The emails Nagent sends about your workspace, approving from an email, the card that says what happened while you were away, making a team's job run every week, and how drafts learn from your edits.

What happens while you are away

Your teams keep working when you close the tab. When you come back to Home after a day or more, the first card says what happened since your last visit: how much work ran and which agents ran it, how many approvals were made, what the workspace reached, and how much work is waiting for your decision. Close puts your next step back in its place.

Emails about your workspace

Nagent sends three kinds of email about a workspace you are in. Each one names the workspace, and each one has a Stop these emails link at the bottom.

  • Work is waiting for you. When work has waited for your decision for two hours or more, you get one email naming up to three items. At most one a day, and never the same item twice.
  • Your first day. A day after you join as an admin: what your teams did, and the one thing that would help most next.
  • Your first week. A week after you join as an admin: what ran, what was approved, how many days you approved work on, and one set-up question.

Stopping these emails stops them for that workspace only. Work waiting for you still shows in your Inbox, on Home and on the bell.

Approving from an email

An item in the work-waiting email can carry an Approve link when you are someone who can approve it. The link opens a page that shows exactly what will run, with every input, and one Approve button. Opening the link decides nothing: only the button does. That way an email scanner that opens every link in your inbox can never approve anything.

Approving there is the same as approving in the app. It goes through as you, with your own permissions, in that workspace. If someone decided it first, or the action changed after the email was sent, the page says so and changes nothing. Some actions always wait for a click in the app, where you can see everything they touch; for those the email links to the app instead. To decline, open the item in Nagent.

Approve links last seven days.

A job that runs every week

Once a team's first job has run, you can make it run every week, at the same day and hour as when you set it. Use Run it every week on the next-step card, or ask your team lead in the conversation.

Each weekly run spends from your workspace's budget, the same way the first run did, and what it makes waits for your review every time. Nothing goes out without your approval. If a week's run cannot finish, for example because the day's budget is spent, it waits for the next week rather than trying again every hour, and your team lead can tell you why.

To stop it, press Undo on the card that set it, or ask your team lead to stop it.

Drafts that learn from your edits

When you edit an email draft before approving it, the draft as VANI wrote it is kept beside your version. VANI's next drafts are written with your latest few edits in front of it, as before and after pairs, so the changes you keep making are the ones it stops needing. The draft list says how many of your edits a draft learned from.

Edits are read only inside your workspace, and never copied into another email as names or facts: they teach the shape of a draft, not its content.
